WE CARE - OUR COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABILITY
We Care is the sustainability program of Bolton Group which we have adopted as Bolton Adhesives. It will guide us in operating with respect for the planet’s resources, in contributing to a more sustainable future and in safeguarding the needs of future generations.
We Care is based on three pillars: sourcing, producing and people
Three pillars
Sourcing
Our commitment begins with the supply of raw materials and is implemented along the supply chain to guarantee a sustainable use of resources and raw materials and the traceability of our products.
In this area the activities of Bolton Adhesives are aimed at:
- respecting the environment through an efficient and responsible use of resources
- considering the use of renewable or recycled materials in our products and packaging
- preferring to work with suppliers that operate according to a sustainable business model
- safeguarding human rights along the supply chain and guaranteeing compliance with Bolton Group’s Policy on Human Rights
Producing
We pay special attention to every stage of the production and distribution of our products with the aim of reducing our environmental impact and improving the quality of our products through certified processes.
In this area the activities of Bolton Adhesives are aimed at:
- reducing the environmental impact of our factories’ production processes in order to limit emissions and consumption and to reduce scrap and waste material
- operating according to quality, environmental, health & safety certified management systems
- constantly working at improving the quality of our products in order to meet the needs of our consumers and customers
- providing health and safety in workplaces with specific trainings and prevention programs
- zero tolerance for accidents
People
People are the driving force of the growth and success of Bolton Adhesives. We strive to develop our human resources and foster their talent. This attention to people is also reflected in our initiatives in favour of the community.
In this area the activities of Bolton Adhesives are aimed at:
- fostering the wellbeing of our staff by providing an healthy and stimulating working environment
- developing our people’s talent with professional growth programmes
- taking action in favour of communities with projects supporting health & scientific research, art and culture and social welfare
- promoting school education with Bolton Group’s We Care For Child Education programme to ensure a better future for the next generation
We care from day to day at Bolton Adhesives
We develop high-quality products for different target groups. From the youngest pupils at school to professionals in the field, we offer suitable adhesive solutions. We continuously aim to improve our products and offer innovative solutions in order to meet the needs of our customers and end-users as well as of future generations.
By carefully selecting packaging materials, we improve the product lifecycle – starting from production, to their safe use and storage, right up to disposal:
- We strive to use recycled as well as recyclable packaging for the products whenever possible.
- We use thin-wall cartridges for our water- and polymer-based mounting adhesives, which leads to an approximately 15% reduction of plastics use in comparison to market standards.
ISO-Certification
A large part of our products is manufactured at our own factories in Germany and the Netherlands. We are aware of the social responsibility for our employees and for our business partners as well as for the communities around us. We support an active participation of our employees.
Our activities are based on relevant laws, regulations and agreements on occupational health & safety and environmental protection with the aim of a systematic reduction of risks. This enables us to create, maintain and develop safe and future-oriented workplaces with opportunities for growth and development. We are committed to meet all applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
In order to be able to fulfill these requirements in the long term, we commit ourselves to operate an Integrated Management System according to the international standards 9001, 14001 and 45001. We commit to continuously develop it, also with regard to our environmental performance and to a zero-accident-policy.
Bolton Adhesives obtained a combined certificate on ISO 9001:2015 (quality) and 14001:2015 (environment).
Bolton Adhesives obtained a certificate on ISO 45001:2018 (occupational health & safety).
