Step-by-step plan
Step 1
Preparation: Lay out all the materials you need for this job.
Step 2a
Cleaning: Thoroughly clean the back of the glass plate with a lint-free cloth and household ammonia.
Step 2b
Now clean the wall removing dust and grease.
Step 3
Fitting the splash-back plate: Apply Poly Max® in vertical lines every 20 cm.
Only make vertical lines to prevent trapping moisture and therefore penetrating damp spots. Start and end the adhesive lines approximately 5 cm from the edges to prevent the Poly Max® oozing out from behind the glass plate.
Step 4
Place the glass plate against the wall within 10 minutes.
Step 5
Position the glass plate then press firmly. Use distance pieces to get the glass plate into the right position.
The glass plate is ready to seal after 2 hours.
Step 6
Sealing the splash-back plate: Work from a corner, with the oblique side of the nozzle pointing downwards.
If necessary, use a new nozzle for the correct diameter.
Step 7
Immerse the Bison Multi Tool in soapy water.
Use a plant sprayer to moisten longer sections of sealant.
Step 8
Smooth off the sealant seam within 10 minutes using the Multi Tool.
Use the Bison Multi Tool with the concave side up so that the excess sealant is collected.
Step 9
Admire the result!
