HOW MUCH DO YOU USE?
The coverage is approximately 2.5 l/m² when working with Textile Tape. Without Textile Tape approximately 1.5-2.5 l/m².
WHAT LAYER THICKNESS SHOULD I AIM FOR?
A layer thickness of approximately 1.5-2 mm after drying offers optimum protection.
AT WHAT TEMPERATURES CAN I USE THE PRODUCT?
Please ensure an application temperature of at least +5°C. Rubber Seal must air dry. With low temperatures and high humidity the drying time is longer than the stated 48 hours at 20°C.
DOES THE WEATHER HAVE AN INFLUENCE?
With outdoor jobs, Rubber Seal should not be exposed to rain for the first 12 hours and the minimum working temperature is +5°C. Rubber Seal should already have formed a solid skin, otherwise rain may mix with the wet Rubber Seal, resulting in longer drying times. The hard skin is achieved by applying several thin layers of Rubber Seal.
DO I HAVE TO USE TEXTILE TAPE?
Bison Rubber Seal Textile Tape is strong and flexible. The textile tape also has good absorbency. In combination with Bison Rubber Seal, it is ideal for bridging tears, cracks and seams, and facilitating layer thickness build-up.
WHEN IS RUBBER SEAL DRY?
Rubber Seal is dust-free dry after approximately 3 hours. After 48 hours, it is fully cured, depending on the amount applied and ambient circumstances. The drying times can vary depending on temperature and relative humidity. Therefore, it’s important to be aware of the ambient temperature. Bison Rubber Seal should not be used when the ambient temperature is lower than 5°C.
CAN I PAINT OVER RUBBER SEAL?
Yes, you can. Before starting to paint, ensure that it properly adheres to the Bison Rubber Seal by testing it first. Please be aware of any reactions to the surface. If there are reactions, you should use a paint (elastic) that does not react.
Tips
CUT THE TEXTILE TAPE TO SIZE BEFORE STARTING THE JOB SO THAT IT IS EASY TO APPLY.
That way, you can apply the Textile Tape immediately after applying the first layer of Bison Rubber Seal.
ENSURE THAT THE FIRST APPLIED LAYER OF RUBBER SEAL IS THICK ENOUGH TO SATURATE THE TEXTILE TAPE WHEN YOU PRESS IT DOWN.
For obtaining a solid rubber seal, it is important that the Textile Tape is completely saturated with rubber seal. By using a putty knife, for example, to press the Textile Tape into the wet rubber seal, it will get well saturated. Apply at least one subsequent layer on the Textile Tape. To be sure that a sufficiently thick layer has been applied, the final surface must be shiny, not dull.
REMOVING RESIDUES
Immediately remove wet residues with water, Bison Wipes or Bison Hand Cleaner. Dried residue can only be removed mechanically.
